Jennifer is an East Bay native returning to the Bay Area after many years living in the Southeast. She is a graduate of North Carolina State University with a Bachelor’s of Science in Microbiology and after graduation spent several years working in clinical research in the Pediatric Allergy and Immunology department at Duke University. While she found this work immensely challenging and rewarding, the long hours spent at the lab bench performing repetitive tasks took their toll on her body and when her position was eliminated during the 2009 recession, she opted to pursue work in a different field.
It was following a back injury that she first discovered the benefits of massage therapy for herself and was instantly hooked, wanting to learn everything about it that she could. In 2013 she enrolled in massage school in a 960 hour program that focused primarily on therapeutic modalities such as myofascial release, orthopedic assessment, and sports maintenance massage. Neuromuscular Reprogramming was a natural extension to this training and she began attending Jocelyn’s classes shortly after moving back to California in 2016.
Jennifer has always endeavored to bring the analytical skills she developed during her time working in science into her massage practice, working closely with her clients to discover the root causes of their pain and coordination issues and developing treatment plans to help alleviate them. She finds great joy in seeing her clients improve over time, and nothing makes her happier than watching them regain mobility, experience a reduction in their pain, and become more at ease in their own bodies. She is honored by the invitation to join the team at Healus and is excited to be a part of this innovative practice.
